Baraja: "tHE TEAM kePT going AND COMPETED UNTIL THE END"
The Valencia CF coach talks after the 2-2 result against Deportivo Alavés
Igor Cherkasskii enjoyed a very special day with the Valencia CF squad at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna. The players and coach Rubén Baraja greeted him warmly, signed autographs and took photos with him, his parents and sister, as well as representatives of the 'Asociación Pídeme la Luna' and the Hospital La Fe.
Rubén Baraja gave him and signed a shirt with his name on it on a morning in Paterna, in which Igor and his family were able to watch part of the team's training session and, above all, see and greet their idols up close. The sparkle in his eyes and an eternal smile reflected the happiness of the little boy and his whole family.
Pídeme la Luna Association
Pídeme la Luna (Ask Me for the Moon) is a non-profit association made up of nurses, doctors, nursing assistants and other health personnel, as well as many parents of children from the Onco-Hematology Unit of the Children's Hospital of Jaén, Hospital Virgen de las Nieves of Granada and Hospital La Fe of Valencia, as well as many volunteers who are always willing to give their best to see the children happy.
Their sole objective is to make all the children's dreams and illusions come true, however difficult they may be, and to bring a smile back to their faces after their long periods of hospitalisation, thus reducing anxiety and increasing the confidence of children and their families.
With the motto "Ask me for the moon and I will try to reach it for you, as long as your dreams come true", they developed a programme of activities outside the hospital and also in the hospital itself, which is a wonderful therapy for the children because of the joy it brings them, while at the same time being a constant source of motivation.
